As a novice player of craps there are probably some occasional terms that you don't understand when players or dealers of craps say them. Be knowledgeable and read on.

The marker is an IOU that is signed by a player of craps that has a standing credit limit with the casino.

A marker buck or puck is the disc that marks which number is the point and if there is no point established yet in craps.

Natural is the term used when a 7 or 11 is rolled in the first roll of a round of craps.

Off is used to indicate to players of craps if a certain bet is not working on a roll whereas on is the sign to indicate that a bet is working.

On base is the terminology used for the dealer that is not sitting who is dissimilar to the stickman in craps.

On the stick is the term to indicate to players of craps that a dealer is temporarily handling the sticks for the stickman.

A one roll bet is a bet whose winning or losing will be decided on the next throw of the crap dice.

To parlay means to increase the wager of the player of craps. This is usually done by doubling the initial bet in craps. Parlay is also called press.

The pit boss is what you call the employee of the casino that manages and supervises all the tables of craps in a designated area of the casino.

Rails is the place where crap players put their chips when it is not being wagered in a craps game.

A sequence bet is a category of bets in craps where the outcome is determined with a succession of dice rolls and not with just one single roll of the dice.

To seven-out means a player has established a point but failed to roll the point again before a seven. This means the round is over and the dice in craps lost.

The succession of rolls a shooter does before he sevens-out is called shoot in craps.

The shooter is the crap player that throws or rolls the dice. His dice throw determines the fate of the bets wagered in craps. One can only be a shooter if one has a pass line or don't pass bet.

The slang term for the number 2 in craps is snake eyes.

When the roll of the dice in craps cannot make a decision then that is called a standoff. A standoff usually happens in some bets.
